Let's Get Ready!
It is time to begin getting ready! Spring chores will soon begin so that our summer will be the best it can be! Spring chores can include yard work, indoor cleaning, and purging. In some cases, taking down Christmas decorations! No names will be mentioned here, but you know who you are (and so do your neighbors!) Spring chores may include crash diets and exercising (yea....no, me either!). We prepare for the summer days that we may spend them with much fun and joy!
This year we better start early and make the most of it! Election Day will soon follow and it's going to get ugly! More important and necessary than spring chores, we need to do some spiritual chores. Ephesians 5:16 tells us,
'Redeeming the time, because the days are evil." That is not such a happy message but it is a very practical one. The word "redeeming" literally means "to rescue from loss." As believers in Christ Jesus and His Word, we understand the times that we are currently living in and their relation to Jesus' Word concerning His Second Coming. The days are getting more evil. It is sad but true!
For all of us at Liberty Baptist, this summer will be the summer of Loving More! That may sound weird but it is not weird! Our theme for 2024 is "Love More in 2024." The Bible also tells us in Romans 12:21, "Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good." Our world needs more good! It needs more love, but not the love we think of. It needs more of Jesus' love! Jesus said in John 15:13, "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends." This is exactly what Jesus did! We celebrated it on March 31st. Most call it Easter, we call it Resurrection Day. Jesus died for our sins. He was buried. And He rose again that Sunday victorious over sin, death, and hell! And He did it because He loves us...He loves you!
So let's get ready, do our spring cleaning chores, do our spiritual cleaning chores, and let's have a fabulous spring and summer!

By the way, an earthquake in New Jersey (4.8 magnitude!) that was felt in Massachusetts? An earthquake in Taiwan last week (7.4 magnitude), one in Japan in January. I get the ones in Japan and Taiwan because earthquakes in that region are not too uncommon but a 4.8 earthquake in New Jersey? Sounds much like what Jesus said about earthquakes in Matthew 24! Pray for all of those people effected by these tragedies and for those that are not found yet and those stranded.
